most lightweight rims are...."mag rims" .....which im sure is short for " magnesium alloy rims".

They are lightweight - lighter than say steel ?!?

if rims are of the exact same "magnesium alloy" material - the less dense ( or overall size / volume) rims will ofcourse weigh less.

Rays are often forged too....different process where impurities in the netal are removed making alot stronger and alot lighter than a normal "mag" of the same dimensions.

Just to correct you ben, the major difference between forged and cast rims is the process.

Cast rims are called that because they are made out of a 'mould' hence being easier and quicker to produce. Forged rims on the other hand have a different manufacturing process by which the metal is pressed/stampt (sp?) in order to give it more strenth for a unit of volume. Its not really the 'impurities' but rather the manufacturing process that seperates forged rims from cast ones :)

is it really noticable about the acceleration when putting light weight 15" wheels on the car
i have FAT 5 integra vtiR wheels and im looking at getting rota slip streams... ive read people say that it gives better acceleration is this true... i know that the weight of the wheels will spin much easier... am i going to notice any difference

i had fat 5's on my ek... now i got rota slips.....

i can't tell any difference... but then again my car is an ek1 (aka. snail)

i dont really care about the weight factor of the rims unless they are anchors, im definately going to get the rota ss look so good
yours are the dark bronze arent they? i was wanting black and my car is white after seeing the pics of your car im in between was to what colour to get
