I have been trying to rebuild an alternator from a CL9 (K24 engine).

So far, I think I'm going to need new brushes. Current brushes sit at 7.5mm, where the minimum limit is 5mm.

However in my infinite wisdom, I decided to "remove" the top plate that consist of the connector and plate that allows the brush to screw onto.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to buy that particular plate? And the cost if need be.

Or am I better off just buying some aftermarket alternator?

looks like it might be better to strip it for parts than to rebuild it.

the plate isnt pictured on the page as an available part.

Might need to hit the wreckers eh?

that, or just get a new one.

afterall, whats the point saving $200-300 only to have it fail within the next year or two. do it once, do it right.

looking on the bright side, at least i will have some OEM bits like brush holders and what not should the new one fail.
