EK1 Sedan, Auto Trans CVT ???

Hi guys,

my mate getting 96 EK1 sedan D16Y5, Auto, just wondering is it CVT trans in this model?

are there any transmission filter? have to buy from Honda dealer only?

Hi, the Y5 only came in VTi and that was eithier 5 speed or CVT no normal auto box for VTi. edit i stand corrected no normal auto after facelift so 96-98 did have normal auto box

There is a transmission filter, unsure where else to purchase from apart from dealer but it is normally only replaced when you do a rebuild Part# 25420-P4V-003 or a coarse filter on the side of the oil pan 25450-P4V-013. I was told that these aren't really replaced unless doing a rebuild so im unsure.
