Is as axle stub the end part of the driveshaft?

Which car? Stub axles on the S2000 are the short (stubby) sections that go into the diff that the rest of the driveshaft bolts to. Not sure which end would be called the stub on a single piece driveshaft like most FWD.

Not sure mate, it could really go either way (diff or hub end of the driveshaft). What are you trying to do?

Ive been told my stub axle is bent. Would I be better off just getting a whole new driveshaft?

Yeah usually it ends up being easier to replace the lot. PM Josh at Sleeping Performance - he's a trader on here based in Dandenong - he might have what you're after.

Front or rear?

If you have a bent stub, to me it's more likely a bent stub shaft on the back, as this is a rigid component and will bend if you hit a gutter hard enough.

To bend a front stub axle doesn't make sense, as it's housed inside the hub spline, and pivots on a CV on the end of the drive shaft so it should move with any bending movement of the wheel. If anything on the front is likely to bend, I'd think it would be the knuckle, or maybe control arm etc.

If they definitely mean stub axle, then as Chez said, could be either end. How did it bend though?

As the example you used, I hit a gutter. Lol

I'm just going by what the suspension place said, the put my car up on the hoist and took measurements of all the suspension components and whatnot, said my wheelbase on the right side is off because of bent front LCA and stub axle
