Hey guys,

Firstly my gearbox is fine this is just for future reference. Would a H2B be better than simply replacing the gearbox with the original one?

I have read on a few forums it's a good choice as the B series gear boxes had much better ratios than a H series. What are your opinions?

Cheers.

most b series box's for sale are more then likely fuked/ badly worn. so factor in a rebuild on top of all the other shit involved with h2b.

You bought a cruiser, not worth it imo. Otherwise changing to a shorter final drive might be a better value for money upgrade, along with lighter fly and hd clutch.

An h2b would be harder to do than swapping a nicer FD - either way it's a lot of work but will get you more acceleration gainz than an IHE+tune, so you're barking up the right tree.

The FD in the prelude bok is 4.026, I think you can also fit F series bok's with 4.266,

Even better still - chat with a local bok specialist and see what they can get you. mfactory makes 4.6 and 5.1 (http://www.teammfactory.com/final-drive-gears)

mate has a 4.6 in his h series, bit silly on the highway, 5.1 would not be ideal for street

I've been considering swapping my f gearbok to my h engine, and h gearbok to f engine, but dunno if can be bothered

Already have the lightened flywheel so I will definitely consider a HD clutch if there is too much to worry about with H2B.
