So last night i was driving at about 100, nek minute hear a massive thud, then the obvious sound of gushing air. Slide open the sunroof thing and hey there is no glass. WTF

Turn around drive back to the scene. Just shattered glass and 1 piece of the sunroof. Looks like it just rusted and lost strength.

EK civic btw. It wasnt a OEM sunroof. It was a Webasto sunroof installed back in 04 at a place in Enfield. Everything still works there is just no glass.

So what are my options in fixing this?? I am considering getting rid of the sunroof aswell

that's actaully really dangerous - glad you got it fixed but what has the company done to improve their sunrooves?

known problem with the Webasto sunroofs
hence it was replaced for free

something about the glue letting water seep in allowing rust to form

Id have to agree with that. They didnt even want a reciept or anything.
As you can see in the pics, the rust formed on the frame, where the glass panel sat.

The new sunroof looks to be different to the previous design. Looks more like a 1 piece design.
