View Full Version : Honda Civic EK clutch noise when disengaged
Hey there guys I'm just wondering my Honda Civic EK 1997 is making noises whenever the clutch is disengaged, I really don't know whats wrong.
Would it be the throw out bearing or input shaft bearing?
Please help out and tell me the costs and labor of the parts etc..

likely input shaft bearing as the input shaft is engaged with the clutch out....but get it checked out by a professional before you do some damage.

Thank you Clont
Here is Bonnjamin addition
You can use a VERY large screwdriver like a stethoscope - place the flat end on the gearbox housing somewhere and place your ear firmly against the handle end. It will amplify the nasty grindy noise that stops when you press the clutch in and comes back when you let it out

M8 plz
If you hear it m that is the only way to know. It's internal to the gearbox and won't actually change the way the car drives until the input shaft bearing carrier shatters and the bearings become unbalanced causing issues
