So the great debate: Does it matter if the oil cooler port is facing down?

I've heard concerns such as air getting trapped in, oil drains back into the sump when cold, pump has to work against gravity and stuff. However, it seems like the only way i'm gonna fit the 19 row mocal oil cooler is upside down in line with the front support beam, and i also had to cut some of the lower grill off.

Any other way and the fittings hit the support beam, and i have to move it out further, which means i can't put the bumper on. Tried finding a way to mount on the side but no way it'll fit also, even after removing the windscreen washer reservior

This is for an EP3 btw

Mines upside down and I only see about a 3-5psi drop (measured before and after installation) the system is under pressure so gravity shouldn't really make a difference. 3-5 psi is normal for a oil cooler install. Peak pressure on mine is still the same just at slightly more rpm- 3400 from memory.

Air being trapped at the top is the main problem. If you can, mount it vertical.
