after replacing an aftermarket wheel on the existign SRS wheel, the airbag warning light is always on..i heard u can get an airgbag harness to switch it off.
does anyone know a way or know where to get that?

if you can do that you will still have to pay for Honda to reset the warning light.

just take the light bulb off from the cluster

your crazy.

you should never remove your SRS airbag with out replacing it with another one. then there would be no problems with SRS light. disabling SRS is illegal and I wouldnt want to be you in if some one drove your car and had an accident.

yeh if you were to get pulled over the police would get you for it
and if you were in an accident the insurance company wouldnt cover you for it

if you have rear drum brakes it's not a good idea to remove the airbag cause ur not gonna have a normal face after if u ever get in an accident and have to brake hard. airbags were the sweetest things invented i seen it save lives, if i were u i'd take it to honda or a specialised dealer in that area and get the SRS put bak in with a stok steering wheel or one that supports SRS no matter how much it would cost me ;)

guys,

it is really simple to reset the srs error code. However, do that only when you know that you have had the battery on when messing with the system. Remember disconnect battery before taking out any fuses, unplugging any connectors before changing steering wheels and the like.

Kristin

Here the instructions on how to reset (use a bent paper-clip to simulate erase connector)

EJ/EK Instructions (works for EG DC etc just as well but position of plug not identical)

http://www.f-dw.de/ImagesOnline/srs2.gif

EP/EM2/ES etc Instruction also works for the above as well as - well - other hondas)

If you want to simulate a connected driver's side airbag although you are using an aftermarket steergin wheel:

yeah but that dont work when you replace your SRS wheel with a non SRS wheel, you cannot get the globe to go out even by disconnecting the ecu, its a saftey thing. the ECU has to pass a self diagnostics on the ecu it self, any relivant sensors, then the air bag assembly. only then the ECU will make the Yellow light go out.

The bottom part works for non-srs aftermarket steering wheels. Been done. The dummy resistor simulates a connected driver's side air bag! which means no dtc and passenger air bag will function properly! The same thing you do when you replace oem seats with side air bags with ie. recaros. you need a dummy resistor to simulate air bag connection.

Does that also work for JDM type R??

as in EK9? The above is mostly EJ/EK so yes, it should work just fine, youÄll just have to try.

No Integra R

hm, wie don't have a dc4 over here. but yes it ought to work the same. Ohm value is the same or are you talking about the reset routine. that works just fine.

There is no DC4 type R its only DC2 R

Well, that's what I thought but your avatar has a Integra DC4 listed. Anyways, works like a charm for a dc2.
