ek idle problem

Hey guys,
I have had my ek civic 2000 for a couple of years now reg services etc very well taken care of. But for a while now the cars idle when sitting on the spot is strange. It will stay good for a few seconds then drop then come back up again consistently. It's ruining my life lol very annoying, I have had the spark plugs in for only 15000 k but are suppose to be good for 40. Checked them anyway n they look fine. Checked wiring harness for any damage found nothing of note fuses turned electrical upside down.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue or would know what to look at?

You have a block/problem wit your IACV (idle air control valve)
As that controls the idling function of your car
That it may blocked up with carbon or not functioning properly
Also when was the last time your coolant was changed?
As having air in the cooling system may cause idle problems
Also
Any check engine lights?

Had this issue with my EK too. Some brake cleaner/TB cleaner and 30 minutes of your time and you're good to go.

Yep correct, it's a common problem issue after the car has done over a certain mileage. Minor but easy to fix :)
