What a beast! This 450+HP V12 Rolls Royce came into Car Care Products for Paint Correction and application of Swissvax Divine Wax.

We are lucky to say, that we have worked previously on other Roll Royce’s’ before, which helped in giving us a good indication to determine which combination of pads, polishers and Menzerna polishes were required to complete the job! And as many detailers are aware, the correct combination of Polish & Pads really will make a job much easier and will allow you to achieve the result that you want for the customer and of course the customer expecting!

The Process;

A full 3 stage decontamination process was used including a full wash down with Mint APC (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/mint/apc) (All Purpose Cleaner) to remove any remnants of previous waxes or sealants – this also helps the polishing process later on.

Next using Gyeon Iron Remover (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/gyeon/q2m_iron) we sprayed the entire car to remove any carbon/brake-dust/rail-dust fall out that may have adhered to the paintwork over time. A little reaction, but nothing nasty which is to be expected for this type of car you could say.

After a thorough rinse down we took out Dodo Juice Ferro Clay Lubricant (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/dodo_juice/supernatural_ferro_clay_lubricant) – a combination of clay safe & de-ironising clay lubricant to be used with the Dodo Juice fine grade clay bar (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/dodo_juice/gentle_grey_clay_bar). This allows of course the removal of all contaminants from the paint, glass and other surfaces but also helps remove any extra fallout that may be on the paintwork. The usual contaminants were found, with a little brake-dust/carbon fallout also but nothing drastic.

The 21” wheels received a thorough clean with 1Z Einszett Colourtec (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/colourtec_wheel_cleaner)and was agitated with the Vikan & Daytona Wheel Brushes (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/products/all_brands/car_accessories/brushes_and_mitts) to remove any brake dust and other dirt/contaminants inside and out. Tyres also received a good scrub to remove previous tyre dressings.

What machines did we use? - We used a variety of machines from the RUPES LHR15 (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/rupes/bigfoot_polisher_lhr15e), RUPES LHR75 (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/rupes/lhr75_mini_bigfoot_random_orbital_polisher), Festool RAP80 (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/festool/rotary_polisher_rap_80), and DAS6 Pro (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/car_care_products/ro_polisher_das6_pro_kit_lake_country) to with of course Menzerna Polishes (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/products/menzerna) - combined with our Lighting Bay that has a mixture of Halogen, Halide, LED and Fluorescent lighting... we hope that we can see and spot nearly all imperfections to ensure we notice any imperfections throughout the paintwork. Although it does resemble being in a 7-11 late at night and you do feel slightly blind after a while!

Overall with Lukasz being as fastidious as he is, the job at a guess took over 30 hours. The car was finished off and protected with Swissvax Divine Wax.

Interior leather trim was cleaned and treated with the Duragloss Leather Shampoo, Dodo Juice Leather Cleaner (yes both used to test) and conditioned with Duragloss Leather Conditioner with Nanolex Leather & Textile Sealant applied after to protect the light coloured leather from absorbing any clothing dye and other contaminants.

The rest of the interior we used Duragloss FCS and also 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium to keep the to the factory look and finish as possible.

Tyres dressed with Gyeon Tyre Dressing (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/gyeon/q2_tire_gel)

Engine bay was cleaned, and dressed with 1Z Einszett Vinyl & Rubber Protectant (alternatively, you can use 303 Aerospace Protectant if you have this also!)

Why didn’t we use all Swissvax? – Simply because you do not always have to ‘stick’ to the same brand, even though Swissvax Products are brilliant it doesn’t necessarily mean you wont achieve the same finishing results or have similar quality other boutique branded products such as Dodo Juice, Duragloss, Gyeon, 1Z Einszett etc.

Any comments and questions are more than welcome as per usual!

And remember, if you have a Rolls Royce that you’d like detailed (or several?), we offer detailing in-house in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and other cities we can recommend reputable detailers who can help bring your car back to its showroom finish. This also includes paint protection for matte paint, gloss and vinyl wrapped vehicles.

Now lets move onto the pictures (extremely picture heavy!!)

We found a lot of polish and wax residue through door jambs and edges – some quite caked on which needed some persistence to come off.

LED Lighting does provide further help in spotting imperfections over the halogen, halide and fluros! But also remember, the SUN does also help.

(If you’re wondering that that ‘thingy’ is on the left on the wall, its our water filtration system we use to wash cars – this breaks down the harshness of the water and also removes any sediments to ensure 100% safe mar free wash)
