Hi to all civic owners! gidday..I recently purchased a EK4 civic and loving it. Its the dark green colour. Love the handling and power when needed. Also build make and quality seems to be very good for almost a ten year old car.

Basically I want to do the following mods, nothing special, but something I've been looking into for a while.

1. I want that black lip that goes on the factory front bumper, anyone know where I can get that from? And roughly how much it cost? I think it gives it the JDM look? I saw a silver ek4 with it the other day and it looked a treat.

2. Need to lower the car, what springs should I use? I might be looking into some aftermarket shocks later on, but as financially wise, not right now. I was thinking of using good springs such as Eibach or Koni's, but I dont think they will lower it more than 1.5inches. So might have to get Kings, jumbos etc.

3. Also, what colour should i spray my stock ek4 rims?? I was thinking of Matt Black. Any other opinions guys?

Just got it serviced at Hannys for a reasonable price, very happy with the service. The mechanic there looks like the old man from Karate Kid, Mr Miagi hahaha. sorry but he does

Congrats on your new purchase ;)
imho, i don't think black rims would suit a green car..
but each to their own !

Prob talk to eg5 about the lip. In traders section. Do a search on the springs there's alot of info on this site.

u can get the lip at any honda parts shop
it costs $162

but the problem is no matter how u explain to them, they dunno wot lip ur talking about
and will try to sell u a 300 lip

if its around the 160 mark
its the right one

kings are good

koni dont actually make springs for themselves, king springs are what you get when you get koni... from what ive been told from my boss (work at autobarn)

Eibach springs are the way to go. probally the most popular combo in states is Eibach on koni yellows. if your not fussed about handling (just want to lower the car) get kings.

if u're lookin at eibachs, maybe also consider tein and apexi springs. all ard the same price.

u can always shove them onto konis at a later date also!

don't get the kings. i found they were just for lowering and didn't really offer any handling "improvement" at all - unless that's all u want which i would think is a bit of a waste...:o

nah i want to lower my car for better handling, but then again, I wouldn't mind some aesthetics as well. I want 2", but dont think any good springs offer anything lower than 1.5"inches..

won't recommend on kings springs mate. had some bad experiences with them. rather wait a lil longer and save up on some better springs. my 2 cents. good luck with your new ridE!!!!

I would buy better springs, but who makes springs that go lower than 2inches?
apart from kings, jumbos etc.
