Hi Guys,

I have a Honda Jazz 2003 in red which has a faded roof, bonnet and a massive dent on the tailgate.

I'm looking at having it vinyl wrap, looking to keep the car for the next 2-3 years.

Can you guys give advice if its a bad idea to vinyl wrap the car with a damaged paint/coat?

Also what would I be looking at to get the rear tailgate dent fixed?

Youre looking at 300-500 to repair that dent. Might be better off grabbing a replacement panel from a wrecker. Bring it to a paintless dent removal service if there is not damage in the paint.

Yes you can vinyl wrap over your faded paint. But then a lot of people find their vinyl starting to peel off after a few months of application. Some have more lucks but generally, vinyl wrap will peel eventually, especially in summer. It's only a matter of when which depends on how well your guy apply the vinyl. I would say vinyl wrapping a car is viable if you park it undercover 90% of the time

Hope that helps

Try and keep the jazz in the shade
That red paint is notorious for fading

I wouldn't vinyl wrap it. Vinyl wrapping looks terrible 90% of the time.
I'd either look into doing a cheap respray yourself, or just leave it. Might be able to buff it out, if you're lucky

Problem with parking in sun, them blotchy patches look like paint oxidation or almost there.

If you can afford or do yourself, sand back and respray base/clear maybe primer at the areas that are really bad.

not sure why those who replied are dissing the vinyl wrap I think its an excellent idea over the respray. Its only gonna fade again over time anyway.

Plenty of companies in NSW do vinyl wrap along

if I had a shot of doing a vinyl wrap having owned 2x red Honda's already I would go with matte red that way it will go well with the red door jams and red engine bay.
