Someone said that you did it on slicks though? Is that correct?

And heard a CB Lancer took the FWD Street tyre record at 12.1.....

yes it was my 1st time with full slicks.
brand spankin new slicks
very hard to get used to it.
i did try to pull the handbrake as hard as possible but it just drag the car to the front , so around 5 runs of my race the slicks wasnt warm enough and i get stuck with alot of 1.8 60ft

but after the slicks is running in , it is easier to do burn out and thats when i did 1.7 60ft.

JDM.Power
10-04-2005, 07:16 AM
i reckon you would get a low low 12 if the tyre was warm an you were use 2 it!
wells just gotta wait till next meet an new improve ments!

10-04-2005, 07:55 AM
top effort Yonas. Maybe try to do bigger burnouts although a mid 1.7 60ft is pretty good with a stock chassis set-up. you might be able to cut a high 1.6 60ft with alot more practise on the slicks.
I glad you got a 12.3 and glad for Zi aswell.. I think going to a 23" tyre will help your top end more and your 60fts will stay much the same, so that would be my next option..

Good luck with holding onto the record now..

Well Done EG5, great to see a N/A Honda KICK ASS.
Your times will improve.

I was racing my Boosted 91 flat back White CRX with Black Bonnet.
First time out racing with Street Slicks, ran a 13.5@115mph my 60ft were shocking 2.858, couldn't get traction. Then blew a head gasket.

But lets get more honda's at these events and let's shown em what a honda can do.

Yeah, there's a few more tenths in super sticky, perfect temp slicks...
If I'd have known, I would have suggested scrubbing them before racing. We usually stick them on a week before hand, find a nice, new, smooth street and do 5-6 light burnouts, one hard one, then take them to the strip....

That said, there is room to improve without spending more money, which is a good thing. You all did well, sounds as though the car is set up perfectly. Can't wait to see an 11..... :D

any engine problems since after the big track day or up until now?

19-08-2005, 04:14 AM
afaik they havent had any major hassles with it.

however if you are thinking about one for your gen 2 i'd think elsewhere coz afaik gee you wont be able to close your bonnet(not just talking a lil bit like with b series)

those that have seen the pacman crx will know what i'm talking about, i've never seen it with a bonnet on coz i dont think they can get one closed on it

EG's have a lil more room in the engine bay to play with but as you see they still cut a lil hole in the bonnet.

the hole is only to accomodate the ITB's. you can get away with it if using std intake manifold.

There are alot of a new ITB design that doesnt required bonnet cuttings

the hole is only to accomodate the ITB's. you can get away with it if using std intake manifold.

yeah i know, that can be seen in the pics .... but my point was more about fitment in EF/ED crx's. obviously u can fit pretty much anything if you've got the dollars behind you but i was under in impression you wont get it sitting low enough to close a bonnet unless you cut the bastard up??

like its hard enough fiting b16a/b18c in there but i figured the k20a would be worse with the angle it sits?

anyway this is getting off topic

sivic
20-08-2005, 02:08 AM
yeah, it seems you have to cut up the EF/ED's. theres a pic on one of the JDMshit galleries with this. but yeah, back on topic - EGK20A....... cool

EG5
20-08-2005, 02:15 AM
ef civic or crx k20a swap will get away with SIR bonnet without cutting or spacers.
