Hi all, A while back I fitted coilovers to my EG8 Civic, Recently removed the coilovers and fitted the standard struts back into the car.

I took it for a drive, and instantly noticed the standard struts are either blown or seized, the car has literally 0 suspension travel now and I am just curious as to if anyone knows why this has happend?

They where removed working fine, sat in the garage for a few months, now seem to be seized or blown?

Car is incredibly bouncy to drive, and litterally the suspension just doesn't work, after driving around town I noticed the suspension doesn't rebound and just stays at its lowest point, causing me to scrape on speed bumps etc.

Anyone know whats happend? As far as I'm aware, I put everything back the way it came out..

Would it matter if the drivers side where swapped with the passenger side? Because thats all that I can think of at the moment, otherwise, Time to fork out for new suspension again..

no real difference side to side....did you take apart the standard suspension and put it back together ? you might of left out A large washer that acts as a limiter between the shock piston and top mounting. If this isnt there , the shock piston will push thru and enter the cabin giving you 0 damping and a very bouncy ride. Have alook in the front above the suspension towers to confirm.

Otherwise - you have fluffed something up. Jack up take wheel off and start again

Stock suspension was removed from the car as a whole strut and put to the side, Never took it apart or anything.

Any idea what I could of "Fluffed Up"?

I literally put them back in the same way they came out.

If the top mounts and bottom mount are held firm - then it comes back to the springs or shocks themselves. Either rust has collapses the spring / spring is cut , or shock is truly dead.
So if you press on a corner of the car it bounces around like crazy?

Bolts are held firmly, No rust on springs/cut springs

If I press a corner of the car, It's almost like it has 20kg Coilovers in it, the Shocks do not support the weight of the car, So it feels as if bottomed out, If I drive over a bump, the car continues to bounce afterward, almost like a cut spring.

Shocks bad. Maybe....
Id jack it up take 'em out and if possible take apart the shocks and individually test the shock and spring. You can Push the piston down and it should rise slowly but consistently. If it pushes down but does not return or does but jittery the shock is blown internally. If there is an oil on the piston and or around the shock there is an external leak.
