Wow!!

Someone actually wants a SOHC VTEC.

If you want it in a 4th gen its gonna cost u approximately 3-3.5k all up to get it running.

Inc brake upgrades.

Personally I'd rather get a D16A / ZC

Half cuts, hmm should be able to source out anywhere since its a locally released engine.

i was thinking of getting the zc but theres not that much aftermarket support...so thats
why i was think of getting the sohc vtec....and plus it has a VTEC :D

Why not just get a b16a if you was thinkin' of higher aftermarket support, there are soo much more parts available and the gains would be soo much better

Depends what route you want to take. Turbo kits for the D series are alot cheaper then the B series. Greddy D series kits go for ~1300 USD.

Plus the D16 put out more torque then the B16.

not quite. the b16 puts out slightly more torque (negligible) but much higher in the revs. the d16 has more low down torque due to its longer stroke

y8 are real nice ds, get a vti mate, but if money is not an object then do the conversion, ive seen d16s goin for $1000 in awesome condition.....

the torque on the d16y is more useable for daily driving - doesn't slow the car down with the a/c on and is so much fun through the powerband. Its a real surprise packet (in my opinion) because i used to drive a DC2R and i find this little engine much more fun to use.

D16Y8 SOHC Vtec is cool man......get one and tune it out!.....heaps of aftermarket parts for that engine too....a fully done non turbo SOHC Vtec can get up to 8500rpm for 170ps:D ......

PS:i know some ppl would put engine power in 1st.....as for me handling and driving skill are the first.....engine power is the 2nd~:D

yup handling first, my little EG performs as well around the twisties as my R ever did (with only some minor suspension tweaks).
