provided you have an OEM security system then no, the immobiliser needs to see the right transponder chip to start the car

Are you planning to steal a car?

If your worried about it that much, shouldn't you just straight up get legit insurance? .... say with Just Car and get every single mod Insured? & Pay arm and a leg every year.

My personal defense is a kill switch that has a "key", hidden. Be creative, its not hard to install one. By the time he finds it someone would've noticed that his doing something sus.

take main relay or fuse with you whenever you leave the car

also hide a gps device somewhere in the car for tracking http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=LA9011

The factory immobiliser provides good protection from the average thief who spontaneously want to steel your car, however someone who is targeting your car for theft can defeat the immobiliser quite easily (if they are good).

A few methods have been mentioned in this thread.

For a k-series, all it takes is a ktuner or Kpro ecu and plug it in, its got immo disabled
