Upgrading Cl9

Hi Guys, I've got a 2004 Cl9 and I saw that the later models have updated dashboards with average fuel consumption etc. Would it be possible to get a dash from the wreckers from a newer model and install it in an old one, or would you need to update all the computer parts too? (as I'm guessing the fuel consumption is directly linked to the engine managemend etc.?).

Also, are there other things that people do to make the interiors look nicer? Such as doing something with the plasticky covers on the middle console, replacing the CD display and stuff?
