Alternator intechangability, EK to EG?

I've done a search and come up still a bit dubious
Will a d16y4 alternator fit a d15b7?
Are most d15/16 interchangeable?
I understand carby is different to efi.

Should be fine as long as you convert the plug as they differ and if they both have the same number of wires.
