So, as per usual, went searching for answers, came across a few, but nothing specific. Nothign here, because I suck at searching. whee.

Firstly;
ek1, 1996. 3dr hatch, red, d16y4, likes long walks on the beach

Basically, hit a wombat, airbag deployed. Got a few thoughts thrown at me/ read a few things;

1. Do I need to replace the 'airbag/ srs ecu'?
2. Can I just swap a steering wheel with a non deployed airbag in, without it blowing up, or should I reset the light first?
3. Is anything else likely to be affected/ would the deploying of the airbag set the car into limp mode or anything? I mean, anything affected other than the immediate damage the front of the car received (surprisingly not much, considering the airbag went off)
4. Is resetting/ turning off the srs light as easy as leaving the battery unhooked for a day or so, or just chucking a paperclip in the plug somewhere, and shorting it or whatever a few times?

Also;
What other hondas share the same steering wheel spline as the ek civic? Just in case I want to go with another car model wheel? think dc5's and eg/ dc2's were

i think you can reset ecu at honda, not by Q.4 method.
cheapest would be just replace the srs ecu, otherwise srs light will stay on.

s2k & dc5 most common.

If the SRS was deployed then you must replace the SRS ECU as well as the inflator.

If you need a airbag and srs ecu pm me.

Most likely the connector on the clock spring would've melted as well due to heat so you'll need that as well.

Would clock spring, inflator and bag all be in a steering wheel? So if i got a dc5r or something wheel, it'd work?

*will pm you grifty :)

Seems i may need an aircon rad core as well. That's stopped putting out cold air. Looks like the dents actually punctured

Mad lame.

But yeah, if inflator and all that comes in the wheel, i may as well get a dc2r or something wheel and run that. I'm after a new wheel anyway. Or even just deal with it and get one without a bag. See how we go

clockspring is separate to the steering wheel.

Just to double check, would a dc5/ s2k wheel work with the stock ek ecu and wiring? Won't need any mods?
For working srs i mean
