My current GB has 2 gears with stuffed synchros and I also plan to install a 3rd party helical LSD and a 4.7 final drive.

I would like to do this as cost effective as possible, but not if it means a big risk in reliablility.

Would you recommend rebuilding the current box, or purchasing an ITR box with similar OEM specs?

I am leaning towards the ITR box purely for simiplicity...

Hmm depands on cost.

Cos who knows the iTR box could be bad too.

Rebuild = you know its fresh.

good chance that the itr box you're buying is half fingered as well. Just rebuild current box as above.

Spend the 1500-2500 getting it rebuilt and not have to worry about it again.

China makes used JDM gearboxes???

I think you're all right about the risk. But I guess way too dodgy to buy interstate box... Will start sourcing rebuild parts..
