So my mechanic told me last service, that my front brake pads will be due next service. He also said that the inner pads were wearing out only, as opposed to the inner and outer wearing out evenly.

I rang Bendix, as well as a local brake specialist. The person at Bendix suggested a brake caliper overhaul. The local brake specialist suggested that maybe a slide/track (can't remember) or something along those lines may just need lubricating.

Anyway apart from that. Are there any other solutions/advice you guys can think of?

Thanks in advance!

I would just follow the advice of a trusted mechanic. Best to make sure brakes are 100% ok.

All good. Cheers for the suggestions.

Got it done on Tuesday. He used a brand called Bremtec (http://bremtec.com.au/), hadn't heard of them before. Said that it was a good cheaper alternative to Bendix, and that he'd recommend it for an old 4 cyl runabout like mine. It was $50 cheaper than Bendix, so I thought why not. I don't track my car, but I do go for a spirited drive on the odd occasion.

I believe my mechanic did fix the problem. Not sure how, but he said road tested it and that it felt fine.
