Are the cat backs for dc2r or em1 bigger than ej8?
Was thinking of putting one of these on an ej8 to have some better breathing but still retain as much quietness as possible
Thoughts??

get dc2r exhaust instead of em1.

i had to readjust the length to suit.
its very quiet.

diameter piping ej8 is like 1.5", dc2r is like 2.3" something.

Interesting!
From this thread the audm dc2r exhaust is smaller than 2" but jdm is 2"

Would be good to know definitely

Did all it bolt straight on mocchi?? Only needing to adjust hangers??

Audm dc2r exhaust is 57mm (2.25") O.D stainless b pipe same as jdm, but the flange to the cat is 48mm O.D. It only tapers down for about a 3cm length at the flange because of the small diameter audm cat converter.

The axle back section is 54mm (2"), all mandrel bends, not sure if jdm is the same axle back.

Good comparison, I have no idea what those O.D's he measured though???

180mm doesn't make any sense. Diameter of the resonator maybe, not really relevant to to anything though.

The ID's are accurate, exhaust pipe is usually specified by the OD though so you can't really directly compare to after market exhausts with the ID.

I have mandrel bent b pipe for em1, the pipe in between the muffler and cat.

$50 bux mild steel. PM me if interested. 2.25in

Used for approx 2 months before upgraded to 3in. No dents, perfect condition, just abit rusty cos mild steel.

mocchi and rc_ : i know em1 has an id of 50mm, is this the same for dc2r? or is dc2r for sure bigger?

Depends which dc2r exhaust you are talking about. Look at the link that exquisit posted.

As I said audm catback has a diameter reduction at the flange for the cat for about 3cm. If you cut that off then it is 57mm OD all the way to the rear axle flange then 54mm OD for the axle back. I haven't measured the wall thickness of pipe, but 1.6mm is pretty standard. I have measured the audm header collector pipe thickness and it is more like 1mm wall thickness. I will be cutting one soon so will be able to clarify.

Also it is all mandrel bends not press bent.

Is the Em1 exhaust press bent? If so that 50mm ID that you are talking about will be less at each bend. Where is the 50mm measured?

didnt have to modify hangers but definitely gotta massage the rubber with wd40 to fit.
also the muffler tip tucks inside/under rear bar
