Hey guys hopefully someone can chime in.
I own a 05' Accord Euro CL9 and it's been misfiring & stuttering.
The first time it happened I figured it was the coil pack, did the test by swapping them around & seeing if there was a change in idle. Happen to be cylinder 3. So $205 later for 1 coil pack plug I swapped it over in the Burson's car park, runs like a dream.
Now a month later it's happening again!! Don't know why....another coil plug gone? Or should I just buy a whole new set of spark plugs which hopefully will be a cheaper fix?
Someone please help before I spend another $205 for a coil plug :s

Cheers

Have you worked out which cylinder has the problem?
Tried to swap the spark plugs with known good ones?

I had 1 coil go on me randomly while driving to work, the only thing I could think of is that I went through a huge storm/massive water on the road a few days before hand. I could see traces of water on the rocker cover. So I think water got to my one.

Then what the hell kind of plug should he put in there?
That puts out the same spark/same gap?
Good luck finding a copper variant
Swap around ignition coils and see if that eliviates the problem
And FYI never put a bosch/champion in an engine that came from factory with NGK/Denso etc.

Thanks for the replies guys.
So I popped open the bonnet, it seems to be cylinder 1 gone now. Previous cylinder was no.3 but it's running fine.
I swapped over the coil over pack (COP) to cylinder 4 and it has switched over to that and so forth. Spark plugs are fine, no corrosion.
Car has done 260,000kms so far, so I'm assuming they all must be failing around the same time unfortunately.
Guess I'll look on ebay to see how much they go for there instead of Burson's, Repco etc.

Cheers

Repco sell the coil packs for i think $200 retail each
See if you can strike up conversation and ask for trade price/RACV price (20% off)/Just genereal discount
Or check your local wreckers

I think Honda is ~200 mark also, jump on ebay or go to the wreckers? Mekong Auto Spares if your in Sydney.

Most places will have to order them in (1-2 day turn around).

Thanks guy's, yeah it's deff a plus.
I'm in Melbourne, I'm looking on eBay, a lot of after market ones only selling for $45 each!!
Anyone know if they have had any experience with these coils before I make the plunge in getting them?

200k to 250k is about when most coil pack starts to play up.

BTW $200 is cheap, you should cost up a BMW M5 V10 one!! They are $750.00 each and you need to replace all 10 units at 200k km.

Ideally you should replace all 4 coil pack units.

When one fails the others will soon fail. But if you don't want to spend the money change the faulty unit first and budget for the rest.

For the Honda they start to fail form 150k km onwards

Oem Honda coils aren't cheap because the oem denso part is expansive.

As to the coil pack for the V10 BMW, they are generic Bosch parts that can be had for $250 each or less in the EU.

There you go
And shipping to Australia starts at $50
So you're well ahead
Might as well do your spark plugs to while you are in there
Don't forget the seals too
