Hi guys,

I bought my very first car a Honda Civic EK1 Milano red 6 months ago and have fallen in love with the car and the Honda scene. Since I’ve bought it more power and appearance upgrades have been at the top of my list.

At the moment I am deciding what to do long term, in the end it is really my decision but I just wanted to get some input on what you guys think, here goes:

Keep my EK1 learn a load by putting doing a B16A swap, tuning it cams and all that, forced induction, coil overs, sway bars, radiators, tyres etc. With a budget of 8K – 11K

Or:

Buy an Integra Type R DC2 for 15K and keep it near stock with some mods.

What do you guys recommend?

B16 torque is pretty disappointing imo

Great valve car for money you pay for

put some coilovers good tyres and you have killer daily or street car

Putting money into ek civic is ok short term but bit of wasted long term as you could have bought that Dc2r

My next honda would be a DC2R if i ever sell my ed9 crx

Depends what you want. DC2 is an awesome car. But every time I buy a nice ride I feel like the curator of a museum. There's a lot of satisfaction (and pain) in building your own car. But doing all that stuff to an EK will run you way more than the cost of a DC2..

First get ek and learn evsrything. Whenever u got sick of it get dc2r

start with a swapped ek as you will have fun in that as you said you have fallen in love with it... suspension is a must, then mod the b16 different bottom end different cams etc. etc. make it your own don’t follow everyone else’s opinion it’s YOUR car at the end of the day!

test drive a Type R DC2. decide which one you feel is the nicest to drive. then, if you want to learn, start by servicing it yourself.



If you want to go fast get a ZX10R ninja.

get the s2k and do a k24 swap with a sc or turbo if you like 2 doors

apart from the car the k swap will run you all up about 4k including a tune and street registered if you know where to get all your parts, good tuner and engineer.

personally i like saloon - mines k24 swapped and it's my daily love it!

k20 cost more looking at at 6k mark for everything not including the s2k

k24 is alot cheaper (also more torque)

also depends which chassis you swapped it into i voted s2k cause the brakes don't require upgrading and it's rear wheel

you just need headers engine ecu mounts adapter plate for s2k gearbox and a tune

more mods will costs more but with a tune you will see pretty big gains but the prices i mentioned are just a basic swap

alot of planning involved too

It is probably cheaper, at the moment to boost a s2000 than to swap in a k24

For the price of swapping doing a custom swap you can put many other things in too, which arguably sound a lot better
