Hello,
I am just wondering whether or not I should get my D16Y4 rebuilt and then turbo'd. It has done 230,000 KM's. Would rebuilding and turboing this be a waste?
Thanks,
Josh

Josh it really depends on what you consider a waste, what your goals are and what your budget is like.
D-series turbo has been proven to get you movin'

Anything I spend on my car is never a waste :), my goals are to turn a 2K EK1 into a 10K EK1 aimed for track use, my budget is 8K, I just don't want the engine to break after it has been turbo'd.
u mad?

whats it mater, probably get a new motor for 200 bucks
if it brakes buy new one
or, build a motor on the side while you use you your stock motor with turbo ect.
better yet spend that 8 k on a kswap hehehehehe

Put a budget together and compare it to the price of a motor swap. you might be better off swapping motors and not having to worry about any sort of reliability issues associated with some custom work

Mocchi, freind, do you not know anything about modifying cars?
If i put 5k of modifications into my car, the value will go up 5k. Its basic maths mate, common, get it together.

If compression is good, not burning/leaking oil. Go for it.
Shit I would even run 20psi on a d series. She wont last, but new motor can he had for cheap.
While she is working, u will be putting 99% kswap cars to shame at a fraction of the cost.
