Hey all,

Anyone know the ECU code for 98 Accord with a F23a.. specifically the code of the manual ecu (but auto is ok-ish). I think they are OBD2A ecus.

cheers

Go and find the ecu it should be located in the passenger footweel compartment and will have it's part number on it
Are you looking to replace it?

The 5th gen accord VTEC Auto ecu part number was **** POA **** - look for the middle three letters/number to distinguish yours
Or take it to a wrekcer to get matched up

I need the 6th gen accord. They came with either F23 or the V6. Manual was an option.

Need the F23a Manual ecu OBD2a...

i am doing a F23a manual conversion to an odd car.. hence need an ecu for it.

My apoligies i thought you had one in front of you

Okay the best bet would be go find one at a wrecker and specifiy that its for the manual (rare as hens teeth)

According to some source the ECU for the USA accords is ***** PAA ***
Wether or not this equals ours - i don't know
I'm sure with ECU-MANS help you can convert the auto ECU to a Manual one

to spill the beans... I am trying to convert an RA3 Odyssey which only came in Auto. ECU for that is PEA-Q50.
Because it was only ever auto there is no equivalent manual ECU variant.

It has a F23A OBD2A. All 5th Gen Accords are F22 and OBD1. 6th Gen accords came in F23a OBD2A (PAA-L10 i believe) and OBD2B (PAA-L11 I believe).

There are a few other cars in Japan that came with F23a.. CF6 and TA1 from research.. seems TA1 was only auto though..
These are just my findings so far.

I gotta goto honda for a rear main seal, might see if i can get the code from the EPC. But input is appreciated. :p

Whoa sounds like a nice project
The facelift 5th gen accord did come with OBDII

I think you can change your ecu to a manual be desoldering a few things on the cirucuit board and wiring in the neuteral safety switch
No need for new ecu
I'm sure ECU MAN will know more
As i've been researching an auto to manual swap too

cheers dude. If I pull off the conversion I will do a write up.

I am chatting to ECU-MAN about it now - i didnt think OBD2a Auto ecu's could be converted, but he would know better than I thats for sure.

Maybe an ODBII to ODBI conversion harness? :P
Good luck

There is no F23 OBD1 ecu's or maps available.. Some people use the F22 ecu on a F23 but say it doesnt run optimally. I also wonder about the butterflys in the intake manifold.

EDIT: But if as you say the CD/5th Gen accord also came out in OBD2A, I might look into a F22 Manual ecu from them. On another side note, I have a 94 EXI CD accord that I have pulled the tranny and shifter from - I *might* be wrecking it in a month or so if you wanna buy any parts (ignore my profile > i am not longer in Melbourne).

For the record.. went to honda today and they provided me with the following part numbers for the ecu:
98 (he called this a seperate model because the epc showed the cd accord, the 98 accord seperately, and the 99 to 2001 or whatever accord).

For the 98: 37820PAHQ00
99: 37820PAAQ00

The US ones I have found are PAA-L10 and PAA-L11

Also, I have been told the New zealand 99 cf8 accord manual ecu is 37820-PAJ-N00

Had a friend check a car - CG5 98 April - Ecu that came with it was a PAAQ00 :/
