I always thought that DC2R recaro seats bolt straight on to civic EK4 without any inconsistencies or problems, but now my friend says that they dont.
can someone confirm for me?

i just had experience 2 weeks ago.
they will fit perfectly on dc2 vtir.
i used to put dc2R recaro's rail on my EK4, the left rear bolt for driver side will not fit.
passenger side is right rear bolt won't fit. the rail is not long enough to fit that bolt. the other 3 bolts fit perfectly.
I still fit it to my car even with 3 bolts. I found the rail is too low. even if it does fit its still too low to drive. unless u are tall enough.
i drove it for a couple of days and found the ek rails and found it was totally different comparing with dc2 rails. a lot higher. and now i am enjoying it.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice mate.....guess this will take longer than i expected...
yes, u'll have to get ek rails to fit the recaros in. not only will dc2r recaro rails not fit perfectly, they'll be unsafe if u don't bolt them down properly. safety first mate ;)

Hm, instead of getting new rails from recaro for god-knows-how-much ... wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to do as I did and flex the DC2 brackets of and weld the EK ones on?

but then u'll have to sacrifice both original rails which are very expensive to come by, even second hand.

no, I mean the brackets from stock seat. Who wants a stock rail anyhow. And you plan to keep the recaro once its in your car, right?
Take off wrong brackets (in my case EP3 brackets)

Bolten loose EK brackets in car, put recaro on, adjust, mark position, remove.
Weld on EK brackets

Only dot-weld. Then put back in car. if everything fits well, remove again and fully weld brackets. Paint and it looks like stock.
