Does anyone know how go remove it without taking out the front bar?

Open the bonnet
undo all the circle plastic fasteners holding the long black plastic cover at the front of the engine bay directly above the grille
Remove plastic cover then remove the 2-3 Plastic fasteners holding the top of the grille in place
Squeeze your hand in behind the grille and feel for the 2 or 3 plastic fasteners on the bottom holding it in
Once you undo all of those it just comes out
