So there's a sale at the auto store decided to try some oils (5w-30) labelled suitable for petrol and or diesel engine in my k24 and J35Z2 engine.

Bought some chief chicasaw and shell ultra full synthetic did oil change, fired up the engine oil exhaust stank bad hard to describe like rotten plastic burn. Once car warmed up smell disappears. Every morning I fire up the engine to work I would get that smell sometimes strong smell. I don't have oil leaks nor did i spill any oil anywhere to get heated.

Shell was in the J35Z2, there was a smell but not as bad as the chief chicasaw in the k24.

So after being fed up of the rotten burning plastic smell for about a month went to get some pennzoil platinum specific for gasoline engines only and put that in instead. Fired up the engine smell gone! I couldn't smell a thing.

(I went with pennzoil cause it was less then $47 for about 4.7L and claims it cleans better then mobil1 ep $65 and castrol edge ep $68)

Went and got FEO for the J35Z2 smell also went away.

Just wanted to say don't buy oil that's suitable for both petrol and diesel, but buy petrol specific only! Could be the extra cleaning additives for diesel engines causing the smell.

Before the suitable for petrol and or diesel engine oil change was using nulon and valvoline (on sale) had no smell as those oils were petrol specific.

So everyone beware of oil suitable for petrol and or diesel engine!

Im also more interested in 500nM K24, then reading about how someone who has money/brain to build a 500nM k series but no brains about which oil he was going to use.

It says suitable for both petrol and or diesel engines it's just my experience. Oil manufacturers are now starting to make these oils.

Off 500 by 10 all motor.

I'll let your your imagination or brains figure out how the figures were obtained.

Now im more interested in where you got that dyno print out.

I wouldn't mind putting my car on that dyno so i can get some scribbles that claim my car makes gazillion nM.

Interesting 140KW wit 500NM.

BMW 320d lightly tune can easily do 500Nm of torque. Hell a stock 3.0 litre diesel Jag motor has 600Nm. Lightly tune the 3.0 litre diesel can have about 750Nm

Diesel oil has much more cleaning additives. If buying a second hand petrol engine car, I usually run oil design for diesel for 2000-3000 km to clean the engine out before using a full synthetic oil.

You are describing diesel engines, he thinks he has 500nm k24, which is not diesel

Toys Garage ran the dyno numerous times and that's the average print out I was given

before mods was running about 150NM less
