fun facts about OH?

i was bored and thought if the mods could put up some fun facts about OH like when it was created, how it has progressed, who the mods/admin are and maybe draw up some graphs about how many new members have signed onto OH since the beginning?

Well basically I used to spend a lot of time on the OCAU forums reading/learning about cars because there weren't any aussy honda sites or civic sites. At that time, me and Ben (XPLOSIVE) had honda's and i was thinking of setting up a site to see how it goes. SO after a few weeks of contemplating it I was bored at work and thought 'hey what the hell might as well register a domain now to get me started' and after around 15 mins discussing a name for the site with my mate next to me, I registered Ozhonda.com (the other option was Aushonda.com). Then basically just setup a phpbb forum and I thought i'd give it a month to see how it goes. If it didn't go anywhere, I figured i'd scrap it and then just forget the money I paid for the domain name and hosting.

Well as you could have guessed, it grew bigger and bigger and it got to a stage where I just didn't have the time to look at all the new users in the member list OR to read EVERY post made each day. So that's pretty much it. Thinking back the site has come a long way and one thing I wanted was for it to become a resource of good information. So far soo good and we're getting more and more info and DIYs as we go. In the scheme of things, Ozhonda is still pretty young but so far so good. As long as we can keep the spamming/bickering to a minimum and have related/on topic technical discussions, then I'd know the site is the way I want it to be.

yeh, Ozhonda has done pretty good so far.. its a great resource for useful (and sometimes useless) information...

a few of my friends have honda's but havent been THAT interested in modding their cars but i referred ozhonda

and have now registered... haha they're rapped!!..

OzHonda has also enabled groups in different states to organise cruises and meets (i know VIC members have regularly).. :)

There are quite a few honda sites like this in australia, usually for model specific. Ozhonda is the first to actually properly join all the honda members into one forum, and stop all the model's been segmented. So it originally came from OCAU? Hmm, thats odd. I find most honda stuff comes from little groups on oversea's forums.

i remember when i went on the First official OH cruise.
back then it was a nice small community
lil weekly meets up to the old road and so on
now i am so what dissapointed with OH
it used to be a RICE FREE ZONE
but now it's just gone so bad..
