I was wondering how much it costs for the actual rails to fit seats like recaros on to a civic? I've been thinking about getting seats for a while now.. but want to get a price from people that have fitted it on their cars before

hey geek,

I have just bought a pair of COBRA Imola II and need to get some railing for them...just wondering which state you are in.

If it is in Vic can you tell me where you got it done at as i have been qouted $150 by two places to get the railing done.

cheers,

I think my rails fitted and made + labour in my car cost about $200. So I reckon anything up to $200 is damn cheap

i paid nothing for my rails.. they just took the rails off my standard honda seats and fitted them to my Sparco seats. They just needed to make a metal frame for the rails to fit on which wasnt expensive.

its more the engerneers cert you need to put the seats in your car that costs money. its fairly easy to make a frame and bolt it to the rails but it costs a fair bit to get it engerneerd.

lets say you have dc2r recaros
you reckon its worth it to modify the rails or just sell them and get new ones??

ok.. i jsut went through the same ordeal..
I purchsed a pair of recaros with 200 sx rails..

The cheapest place i found was $200 for both seats fitted...
I guess the cheaper the better, but you must go to a shop that has a reliable reputation.
Seat rails are as important as the seat itself. If god forbid, you get into a accident you would wish you had spent that extra $100...

If you are after the shops in sydney that could do the swap then give me a pm...

Alot of shops dont want to do rails as they dont want liability for human safety... i even called engineering places...

I end up sourcing myself a pair of CTR rails... worked out about $100 more...
