Hi all!

I am a newbie from Melbourne...just ordered my 05 Euro Luxury in Arctic blue with 5AT and have been reading up on what I can do to the car when it arrives.

I checked out the Acura site and noticed that the TSX has a different centre console with SAT NAV!

See link:
http://www.acura.com/models/model_comfort_index.asp?module=tsx

It also has different instrument cluster by the looks of things.

Has anyone here in Australia tried to get these parts for their Euro?

I thought that but surely the centre console can be changed in its entirety?

Someone must have considered getting an entire centre console from the US...or perhaps its just me being overly optimistic???

i enquired about the sat nav package before i ordered mine and was told the system was not compatible in aus.. but i wouldn't be surprised if they optioned it with a facelift in a couple years! looks awesome and i would definitely have gotten it had it been available!!

It will cost a bomb and no guarantee it will work. As you have noted - dash is totally different too. For example - someone once tried to see whether the instrument cluster would transfer from the TSX to the Euro. The wires are totally different - so things are not always transferrable.

You would also need to source the right mapping DVD that is compatible with Australia and the unit in the TSX.

Way too much hassle. You may as well go for an aftermarket unit.

for the same $$$ u probably can spend it on customisng an aftermarket unit for ur car and still have money to play with audio etc.

Honda Australia hasn't introduced navi system to Aust yet, but hopefully soon. There are plenty of aftermarket products available. My friend fit an aftermarket TV with navi system on his Merc. His Navi system has a bit of trouble keeping up the pace to his exact position. It is always about 1 to 2 second slower. I cant remember the brand he got. but he is going to get it fixed.
I found the Toyota/Lexus's Navi system is very user friendly. And it is envy to know that even Echo ownera can enjoy sat navi system (about $5000 option)

I would think the sat system in Europoean model may suit our cars better.

If it is an option from Honda for another $3000 like the new VW Golf in here, I think I'll get it.
