Hello all ,

My (actually my sisters car ) 2007 VTI L auto has a very bad vibration under acceleration at around 70 kph and up . The vibration stops when you come off the gas . I had the wheels balanced ( that's $20 down the drain ) ,no change . I told the guy at the shop it felt "deeper " than just balance .

Im selling the car but this needs fixing first .

I'm thinking CVs or something ?

The car bog standard unmolested done 90k .

Is this a common problem , any ideas ?

Cheers

how about in reversing? does it vibrates too?

does the steering wheel vibrates while braking?

Haven't gone backwards fast enough to notice any wobble :)

Slight wheel shimmy under brakes ,but I think it's unrelated to the wobble under acceleration .

It seems the consensus after speaking to a of mechanics is CVs. No body has actually checked . Engine mounts could be a possibility .

Assuming it is CVs , what is the best way to confirm that is the problem . No it does not click on full lock , which could indicate an inner cv ?

Does one side go more often than the other , may be the longer longer one ?

Trying to Save money here ,don't want to fix something that's not broken.

Any tips ?

Well just for the sake of accuracy it turned out to be the CV on the short shaft . So only had to replace one .

And for Fitme , yes the is a slight vibration in reverse ,so an engine mount could be shot , as you suggested.
Which mount is usual suspect ?

Cheers .
