Hey boys and girls, i own a 1994 gli civic sedan with a non v-tec SOHC D16Y4 engine. i have been thinking about modifying it but not knowing which path to take. First steps i want to take are suspension and types then i want to do an engine conversion to hopefully something v-tec. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im new to car modifying so anything is a helpful. :)

Cheers xoxo

Start by looking up suspension packages that are available for your car. Decide on whether it's going to be a car you'll take to the track or street or just daily driver. Then you can budget for your needs. You'll learn a lot more by google searching for different parts yourself and then when you have a good idea about where you want to go with the car you can ask more specific questions.

Thanks guys
i have been researching already and everyone recommends Koni Yellows/GC sleeves, im more interested in finding out if its worth putting money into the car; doing an engine sway or if i should just buy a new car... because the engine i have in it now is absolutely gutless..

Tbh, unless you buy something that already has a B18 or K20 in it, you will most likely wanna do an engine swap. As Blaze said. Best thing to do is just figure out exactly what you want first. Then make plan/budget.

Cheers man
Will do some more research and get abit of a plan going. Where is the best place to look at prices on engines, suspension and all other parts? :)

Welcome mate.

Engines I'd consider are B18C2, B20B (yes it's non vtec but it would go hard) or even B16A. What would your budget be to get a motor and all the other parts necessary for the swap?

If you have more money to play with I'd go B18C7 or even K20A. Also consider frankensteins like B16/B20, B18/B20 etc.
