Trying to sort out some looseness in the selector of my EK4. The rubber boot (item 10) is perished, and I need to replace it. The seat (item 7) seems pretty snug. Now my question is about the plate (item 8) which clamps the shifter ball assembly tot he stabiliser rod. The plate has a lip around it, which I presume is meant to face down. Mine was installed with the lip facing upwards, leaving a gap between the stabiliser rod and the plate. When the plate has been tightened, it seems to have bent the plate as shown in the photos below.

Before I hammer it straight again, just like to confirm that it is meant to be flat, and installed with the lip facing down. This would explain why my gear stick was so loose as well.
