26k???? here?? WTF!! Thats expensive, but ud think its cheaper to buy a JDM because they dont hold their value in Australia and because its an import.

Also Ive seen 2000 mdl AUDM Type R for $23k with roughly the same mileage and about the same nick. So what would be the differrence in buying JDM over AUDM??

I wouldn't pay similar or more for a JDM similar year, similar mileage dc2R. From what I've noticed, JDM dc2r's have been selling for under AUDM price although they've mostly been 96 spec. Thing with imports is you never know about the history of the car nor the true milage. Having said that, 98 specs seem really rare and would be quite tempting. Anyway buyer beware! Get it checked out REAL thoroughly by a mechanic and panel beater.

Just remember to factor in these thing about the JDM:
- You will never be sure of it's service history nor milage.
- Private imports have always been worth less on the used car market.
- Imports are generally harder to insure.

You'd be willing to pay similar money for JDM if these points don't really matter to you. To me the reward of owning a JDM DC2r is not worth the extra risk, seeing as the AUDM model is very similar to JDM performance wise.
