i would say best get someone to look at it. if its not leeking and u cant see oil on a dipstick. u not checking the car on a incline ground are you? flat surface good =P..
i think mine takes in 4 liters of engine oil.. from empty
thats about as much dodgy advice i can give ya =P..

I think all the DC2 drink a lot of oil, same as my old DC2, at the end of every track day, I have to top it up b4 I drove home, but now the Dc5 not a single drop needed.

you better keep an eye on the oil Andy!!
I guess it depends on how your driving it, but I drive it fairly hard on occasion and it's never gone through the whole lot in 3000kms.... but i do top up every now and then between 5000kms servicing, but a max of about 400-500ml between 5000km intervals.

I think B-series engine has been known to drink a bit of oil. Obviously the amount will vary from engine to engine. A check every now and then won't hurt... should be doing that with any car I guess.

My dr2 uses some oil, for instance a i left it 3000km overdue for a service, and the vtec stop working bacuase of lack of oil, between the recent service intervel i been thrashing the shit out of the car and i went through all the oil 1000clicks before the serveice was due. So i doubt it is 2 out of the ordinary

i myself own a dc2 Vtir and have to top it up every few thousand km's. but only about 500ml- 700mls. i guess, like everyone has said, it all depends on how you drive it...
i always check the fluids of the car in the morning... its a habit that ive picked up from my old car which had a few problems... best thing to do is to keep an eye on it, and check levels frequently!

Yeah. It is a normal problem with dc2R.

sh*t i never had that problem...but then again i had a "special" engine... so can't be compared.

I got a DC5R, and in the honda manual it says
"The rate of oil consumption can be up to 1 litre per 1,000km. Consumption is likely to be higher when the engine is new."
its in the Service Station Procedures - oil check section
i was suprised reading that, i thought a litre every 1k is alot?! but is it sort of reassuring if your oil on low after 5k
didnt say its a problem if it does consume a litre every 1k such as contact your local honda service centre etc

Yeah, plus it was never tracked. :(

I think it's got more to do with how the car was "run-in". I know, we don't really need to Run-in engine anymore.... However.... Look at the problems some ITR's have. I used dino oil for the first 10,000kms, then switched to Mobil1. Never flogged to car when cold and regular oil changes.
I've just switched from Mobil1 0W-40 to 10W-30 Synth.
It used to use a couple a 100mls between Oil changes (10K). But now with the 10W-30 it doesn't use any, unless tracked, Then it needs a liitle top-up. But again not much. anyway, it should use oil at the track.
VTEC all Day..... Ohhh Yeah!!!

its all about how hard you drive it and how har a life its had.
mine practically doesnt drink anything.. only when i go for a blast..
when your hard on the car check the oil and top it up..
its all logical
