I've read almost everywhere that once someone installs a CAI they should be careful about driving over puddles to prevent hydrolocking the engine. If the filter is in the front bumper, where the resonator would sit, wouldn't it be protected from water by the splash guard? If you do go over a puddle, as sometimes it is unavoidable, how much water (if any) would make it past the bumper and splash guard and then possibly make it into the intake? I can't imagine a whole heap of water being able to get in there if the splash guard did it's job properly.

it can happen if you're missing a chromosome

the filter needs to be virtually submerged for you to hydrolock your motor.

ive been using a cai for over 4 years now on both my cars and never ever had a problem with water. just be smart with how you drive lol

i recall it happening to a friend.. water in his intake - enough to stall the engine but not kill it.

I have had issue once in 6 years of CAI usage and I can say it was my Fault.

Same thing as DXS, enough to stall engine but not to kill it.
