Hi guys,

My Civic has done 108,000 km and the clutch is starting to slip. How much do you guys think it will cost to replace at a mechanic rough estimate ? I am thinking of changing it myself. I have changed a clutch on a Celica and it is fwd as well so the process should be the similar. Has anyone change the clutch themselves ? If you have, do you have any tips or things I should look out for ? Also where is the best place to buy the clutch kit ? I have been looking at an american web site and their exedy clutch kit is only about $300 including shipping.

Cheers

Location ?
I charge $500 as a backyarder - workshop probably double.
If you want to do it yourself just grab a workshop manual off hondatech or similar , all I can suggest is to make sure to properly torque the pressure plate and in the correct order

Wow I just got a quote from Honda and the cost is $2250. $1750 from a indy mechanic. I am definitely going to change it myself. I can get the exedy clutch kit and flywheel from the USA for $500 aud. I think it is a pretty good price.
