Craig Dolby is a professional driver under contract with JRM, the team structure developing, marketing and racing the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 since the latest model in 2015. The Brit has accepted two missions this year; the first consists of allowing JRM’s clients to benefit from his driving experience. So Craig is thus participating in the Blancpain GT Series on behalf of MRS-GT Racing Team, also partnered by Motul just like JRM.
But the second, and easily more unexpected mission, allowed him to discover the world of film-making by joining the team of stunt drivers in the film ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’.
“Chance had it that I met Wade Eastwood, the film stunt coordinator, on a circuit in Great Britain,” Craig tells us. “When he offered me the job I didn’t hesitate a second. Working alongside superstars like Tom Cruise is a once in a lifetime chance!”
Filming on location in Morocco occupied Craig for more than a month. “I did any stunts considered dangerous and the more straightforward fast driving sequences. Everything went well and it was a great pleasure for me,” he says proudly.
Craig was unable to attend the pre-screening as it was scheduled during the Spa 24 hours, but he has since made up for that.
“It’s very surreal to see yourself on the big screen. But I’m hugely proud to have used my skills in a completely different environment, away from the race track.”
