I am wanting to purchase a set of new tires for my (on the way) WE CR Kai's. I'm deciding between the BS S-03 and Michelin Pilot Preceda's. Anyone have any other suggestions in the same price range? Guys in melbourne know anywhere I can get the best deal for tires? Thanx heaps!

hey, I've read that thread before. I heard wheels magazine did a tire review recently and the Michelin Preceda came first in it's class. Just want to know if there's anything else thats good for around the same price besides the S-03 and best place in melbourne to get a good deal, thanx!

I went to Bridgestone Tyre Centre in Maribyrnong. They gave me the best price.
I'm now a Bridgstone man. I rave about their tyres. Had a fair few sets of different price range and never been disappointed in their grip, life and road noise level.

under the so3 is the grid 3
i think so3 start their sizes at 16" which sux for me cos i have 15" so i have gone with the grid 3s which are better than the pilot precedas which i had before
i got my grid 3's at a great price at a place called donnellans in box hill they also have a shop in oakleigh, collingwood and preston
i got them for 125 a tire which is the best price on them which i have heard of 195/50/15, had a mate who bought them from a different dealer and payed 160 per tire

125 is cheap....... maybe i will get a set of GIII later, they are very good street tyres, or should i try T1-R? hehe

Hey, I was going to start a thread to ask this, but seeing as though this one is already here;
I have previously has Falken Azenis RT-215, what else is there with this dry grip level but better in the wet? Was thinking GIII's?

for my next tyres, I'm thinking about the new yokohama C.drive. Replacment of the A539, which were average tyres....but the es100 were good, but just did not last.
Bridgestone g3 are good value performance tyres, currently running those.

Hmmm.... i will say... NONE
That's why i stick to GIII, good enough grip in dry and good grip on wet

another thing about the g3 is when you buy it, it has a harder compound on the surface of the tread... so as the tires wear down the compound becomes better and better, so when you buy them new they are good in 2 months time they are awesome and get better and better until bald
dont know if you have seen the ad on tv about having different tread underneath the tread thats on there... that refers to this

Preceda's are better than G3. They are spose to be similar class to S-03.
S-03 are a class higher than G3.

hmm.. personanally, i would go for the yokohama advan neovas (i think thats what they are called). slightly a bit more expensive, but the compound is good. currently have g3's on my car now, smooth and quiet. no complaints. but i've heard good comments on the advan neovas. good for the daily driver and occasional track.

G3 better than S-03??? Dunno about that. I thought the S-03 is one of the best out there. I think its better than the Precedas, but I guess Michellin always has that Phsycological effect on people, being a famous brand etc.
The S-03 definitely delivers. Super Quiet, and has the feel and response that I was looking for. The Precedas were didn't do it for me.

Has anyone experienced (or know anyone that has) with Toyo T1-Rs? This is the leading contender rubber on my boosted CRX but attempting to get as much feedback prior to purchase as they retail in the vicinity of $340 - $400 per corner...ouch:(
