problems: fuel and temperture gauges

any ideas on what could be wrong with the gauges
everytime i turn on my car and drive for a while the petrol goes down
but after like 5 mins it goes straight back to full
and the temperture gauge just stays in the middle all the time
is it hard to take the whole unit off to see the wires?

with the fuel gauge, you've probably parked on an angle, and the fuel in the tank isn't touching the sensor properly, and thinks the tank is half full etc.
when u drive off, the fuel levels up, then shows the correct amount of fuel..

with the temp gauge.. does it start off at the bottom when u start the car ?

no the temperture gauge doesnt move at all
my cars not at an angle when i park in my garage
so that cant be the reason
i heard off others thats the problem might be teh wiring?
