My vti steering wheel with air bag fit my mate 91 eg ? Is it a straight swap ?

No difference, except vti model I think might had the airbag option.

As only the Vti model, (or maybe Si model too) came with the option of SRS.
Ofc, the airbag wouldn't work in the '91 EG wouldn't.
