Hi Folks
Recently took CRV to a franchised tyre & suspension 'expert' for new struts and mounts (not that I think the mounts were shot). All replaced with non-OEM - Monroe stuts & Pedders mounts. Since, coils are binding when turning (even when stationary), resulting in a pinging/popping noise when it 'catches up'.
Repairer has returned to Pedders twice (once with vehicle & then with assembly). Local Pedders now say the franchise branded mount is now not suitable for the model/make. I'm not totally convinced this is the correct advice. (PS Local Pedders has since advised it has returned the mounts to their R&D for testing, not to mention provided a credit to repairer.)
Anyhow, I'm really posting to find out whether the North American like mount elements/parts would be compatible with the vehicle. Not surprisingly, the price differential compared with locally purchased OEM is huge. I've taken this route as I'm struggling to find an Oz online OEM retailer.
