hi guys im new to the forum and i own a AUDM dc2r. My car is unregistered and has been sitting in the garage for a while, however when i turn the car on and rev it, there is water spitting out of the exhaust followed by white smoke. There is a decent amount spitting out at high revs aswell. The car doesnt overheat and it doesnt lose any coolant. I have tried researching about this problem however people only say its from condensation however this is not the case as this happens even when the car has been left running for a while. Can anyone give me any advise or help or has anyone come across the same issue ?

Does it give white smoke when warm or black?

Also what does it smell like?

Here is what I do, since the car has been left sitting..

Change the Oil + Filter,

Spark Plugs,

Fuel Filter,

Air Filter,

All other major fluids, tranny, brake, clutch & coolant.

Make sure to use oil flush and upper head cleaner some sort.

Clean the VTC or VTEC filters if applicable.

Also get some cleaner and clean the throttle body.

Drive the car around the block @ ur own risk ofcourse and inspect.

Check the Tyre Pressures too, and warm up the brakes before trying em out.

it is white smoke and im not 100% sure but i guess it smells like fuel fumes.

Yea do the service and report back.

Maybe just cos it might have shit in there.

Also renew your fuel, 98 sitting for a long time can go off.

Specially if nothing was wrong with the car when you parked.

Coolant burns white as dose brake fluid but the latter is uncommon. Servicing the car dosnt do anything to diagnose an issue so just service as required but I would be looking for ways that coolant can get into the cylinders (I.e head gasket) if you are 100% sure that it's not just condensation.

His car has been sitting there for awhile..... if nothing was wrong when he parked it, there should be nothing wrong now.

Freshening up fluids would ensure its not the lack of maintenance causing him problems.

Yeah that's not how it works mate. Sitting for a long time can result in hoses deteriorating, gaskets and seals drying out which then fail, fluids going bad etc etc. A service dosnt fix all of this. That being said how long has it been sitting?

OP can you post a video, pics or some such showing said white smoke and water?
And how long has it been sitting?

I purchased the car a bit over 1 month ago but the previous owner had it unregistered for a while from what he said as he had unregisered it and left it in his garage. I will try and post a video of the water and smoke asap. thanks again for the help guys.

a small amount of water can be normal. Condensation builds up in joints and bends - and is blown through and out the muffler.

Run a NON oil seal friendly oil flush and watch them gaskets spill their guts

No idea why one would need to run an oil flush at all, really not required or eve a benefit if you do decide to do it.
ask the previous owner how long "a while" is.

He's bringing you down to his level. How do you feel?

Dave is absolutely right. Although the general servicing suggested by amant is not a bad idea for something that's been sitting for a long time, it has absolutely nothing to do with water and white smoke.

Will need to see a video as others have mentioned to get an idea of how much smoke/water for how long, and if it's running rough.

Hopefully it's just a lot of condensation.

Agreed on this too. I wouldn't suggest oil flush additives on vtec engines.

Maybe it's fuel from trying to start the car too much namsayin

If sitting there crankin (dat soulja boi)

And then looking at the smoke in the sun maybe thought it was white but it's black/grey

Hmm for gaskets and seals to be cause the car has to be sitting more then a while, we would be talking in the year/s range.

I have left a car sitting 6 months before, ya.... started funny.

After a good service she worked like a charm. Passed rego ez.

Once he has rego and shit driving the car around, if he had a problem then it would show rite? Right know should be just getting the car back on the road for use safely.

Very true, but the OP believes it's not.
I did request a video to confirm as I'm with you, most likely condensation

Yeah I've actually heard of some older cars having a very rare issue where brake fluid leaks into the booster and gets drawn into the intake through the vacuum hose. Stupidly unlikely but yeah I can imagine it's probably toxic as fuk lol

That's exactly what's happened the times I've come across it, though the last time it was a 2015 model pug 208.
