Hey guys, looking to by coilovers for under $1500. Need them for a 1995 DC2 VTi-R Integra.
Currently looking at:
Racing Logic Hyper Street
XYZ Super Sport
ISC N1

Use for street, hill climbs and occasional track use. What are brands/models are people running and how do you rate them?

Cheers!

Hey there,

As posted above I am selling a set. They're almost new and the small leak can be fixed for around $300.

In the end you'll have some top tier suspension for the price of the cheap brands you've listed above.

I can throw in some hard race ITR LCAs so you can run them on your VTIR.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

I too vote for whatever prime minister these guys are plugging

Seriously though , if you are strongly considering hill climbs , daily work etc I would consider upgraded shocks and springs and big swaybars rather than lows and stiffs and bouncier

word of note
the adjustments with the toda fightex allow for a very complient daily drive

turn them up and you have an awesome track warrior

Rule no 1, dont touch 2nd hand Suspension. WHy the leak ?, cause probably low profile and pot hole, Quality Coilovers dont just leak, Im banking on the insert is bent, Ive done 3 inserts from big hits.

How much are replacement inserts ? never worked out why bums dont fix things, broken shit never sells lol

That's the biggest load of crap ever...

I'm running 2nd hand Spoon Fix Sus kit and no problems, previous cars have used 2nd hand suspension [Both coilovers and shocks/Springs] and they were fine for daily and track work. Just do your homework and inspect where possible.

Just like anything 2nd hand =| Yes there are certain things you don't buy 2nd hand like brake pads, brake disc, clutches, ie things designed to be worn down then replaced.

You're just illogical.

I never hit a pothole with them. I honestly couldnt tell you the cause, it just happened. Dunno if you've checked my ad but I'm selling them stupidly cheap for that reason.

Thanks for the input guys. Personally, I wouldn't buy second hand coilovers either. I'm not saying that these one's for sale are terrible, they are probably in great condition besides from the simple leak. For me though I wanted to buy something that I can pull straight out of the box and bolt right onto my car without having to fix other issues first. I may not have purchased the most expensive nor the best coilovers on the market (I went with ISC N1 due to Ryan's great customer service!) however the peace of mind knowing that what I have is brand new and in theory won't need anything replaced just yet is something I prefer. Since owning my car things have constantly gone wrong with different things wearing out etc etc so going brand new, for me, was important to put my mind at ease. I appreciate everyone's input.

Cheers!

Let us know how you get on with the ISC N1...

Great customer service is one thing, product performance is quite another...

You must have some kind of beef with me since my response was polite and you respond like this lol

All I can tell you is what I know, and I know that I didn't hit potholes. Canberra has relatively good roads so there's not much to hit. I don't ride the ripple strips at Wakefield either.

They're for sale very cheap so I don't see what there is to make fun of here?

not making fun of your coilovers, theyre inanimate !!

if you dont recall hitting anything then I question the quality. Obviously it would be easier to sell coilovers if all 4 functioned, as for cheap ? u can buy new coilovers with warranty for ur price.

The forum's for providing advice, have a nice day buddy but polishing a turd means it just shiny. Sorry if you find my blunt talk jarring, will bring my cotton gloves next time B-)

To answer your questions and correct your statements:

The price is very cheap as they're barely used and cost $3100 brand new. The leak is very minor and there's nothing else wrong with them.

Yes there are cheapies out there that cost $1000 new and might come with a short warranty but I would be interested to see how they perform... If you just want lows then by all means go for it.

If you must know the reason I haven't repaired the leak it's simply because I'm trying to buy a new motorbike at the moment so I don't have the spare pennies right now to fund the repairs. It's nothing suspicious.

Hopefully that clears it up for you a bit.

Bought directly from Toda Japan. I thought there was warranty on them when I purchased them but when I got in contact with Toda about the issue they said they don't provide warranty on the basis that their products are intended for racing environments which can be unpredictable. Seems strange I know.
