My 1986 civic is affectionately referred to as the red dragon by my friends. This is the first Honda I have ever owned and I simply cannot believe how mechanically incredible this car is. I have genuine love for Hondas having found this car. I have two queries.
1. Does anyone know officially the model of this civic? It is a 3 door hatch, the VIN is JHM AAH53205201320.
2. I need to replace the indicator/headlight switch as it broke off. I am having trouble finding a replacement. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a place that sells after market parts or alternatively would that be impossible given the age of the car?
FYI I am based in Adelaide and am willing to have the switch fixed and put back on if that is even possible.
Any help much appreciated. I cannot let the dragon die.

There's a place in New Zealand that ships world wide that get a lot of odd jdm cars and seem to deal with a lot of Hondas aswell.
It's called junkuyardo https://www.facebook.com/jankuyado/

If not try boss wrecking in qld.. They specialise in Hondas, you will see a lot of uncommon Hondas like wagovans and crxs I. Their yard.. Also lento of dc4 tegs and ek civics.

Does the 1988/89 civic probably use the same indicator switch setup? I have found an 88/89 setup for sale.

88/89 are pre facelift ed/ef so it is likely not the same part.

I think I am in trouble. I cannot find a replacement part and it cannot be fixed. The Car has only done 150,000kms and runs like a dream but I don't see any other solution but to sell it for part since it's not road worthy without an indicator stalk.

Did you call the places I showed you?

There will be a solution.

I suspect a crx or civic shuttle indicator stalk from the same generation may be the same part..

Don't quote me in it though

I did call the places you suggested with no luck. I am in contact with the guy form Jankuyado and he is still looking into it for me but I am concerned that he won't have what I am after. I might ask him about alternative options.

If its really THAT hard to find an oem one, maybe look into an aftermarket 'universal' indicator stalk, even if you don't have diy skills, just pay some kunt to put it in, sounds absolutely crazy to part out a good low km car (for its age) because its missing an indicator stalk lol

good luck
