I'm wanting to know if the 96 ek4 vtir civic hatch and 96 ek1 civic sedan brake caliper are the same?

both are 262mm rotors..they should work right but I only have a 2mm gap between the caliper and the rim,so if they are a bit bigger it wont fit.

ek4 front caliper part number is 16CL14V

Anyone know the part number for the 96 ek1 gli civic sedan ?

Yes,same part number!

Same casting.Must be the same.

Don't think it's the same.
I recall an image off a bendix pad comparison app - same overall disc dimesions but the pad is actually slightly bigger on the EK4. Please double confirm part numbers and tell us

Best to get pads that suit your calipers !

The part numbers match on the calipers for the 96 ek1 gli sedan and 96 ek4 vtir

They must be the same caliper?

Bendix pads part no's for ek1 gli and ek4 vtir SEDAN are the same DB1286.

vtir coupe is DB1391.

The calipers I'm looking at are off a hatch with dba pads part no - RDB1286SM.

GEEZ this is stressing.

well

Honda Civic Oct 1995 - Mar 1999 VTi-R 1.6 Hatchback Akebono Caliper DB1286
Honda Civic 1996 - Sep 2000 Ek1 4D Sedan, 1.6 DB1286

whereas the DB1262 is also listed for the VTi-R 1.6 Hatch, maybe they share the same pad or something?

I have the sumotomo caliper,a bit bigger pad than the akebono caliper.

They changed from akebono to sumotomo mid 96 for the ek.

Take a height measurement and match it in the books in repco.they have diagrams of the brake pads.

or take a pad in.
