I dont think its possible to import a crx. As Danny said, they are selling them in the Australian market, used to anyway. The only way is probaly to get a wrecked crx shell and get the vin number etc off it... Personally, I dont see the point in importing one as the AUS market crxs already come with the b16a. The only extra on the jdm one is probaly 10hp more and also the automatic roof (got to love that) :D ... I think most of the jdm crxs owners here were probaly living in Japan.. therefore after owning the car for X number of years, you are allowed to bring it to Aus. If you do plan to import one and use the method above (wrecked crx), you'll probaly be looking at about the same price as the 2nd hand crxs here.. about $15 k with compliance, shipping, tax, miscellaneous fees.. may be cheaper if u can find a cheap crx in the Jap auctions.

Well I believe that the CRX (non targa top one) is able to imported using the 15 year rule. I haven't heard of any changes to the rule yet. So as it stands, even if it was sold here, you can import a car as long as it is 15 years old.

More info can be found here
http://www.japanperformancedirect.com.au/import_rules.htm

If you want some examples of how much it costs to import one, check out this:
http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/stock/details.asp?StockID=1216

Or this:
http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/stock/details.asp?StockID=739

And compare those prices with the prices you see on the trading post. You might notice though, that there really aren't much price differences now. Maybe $1,000 or so.

That is if you were referring to this particular CRX and not the targa top ones..

Julzy, the targa del sols that u want are not importable using the 15 year old rule or the rebuild rule (which is waht dcii_sir mentioned). The rules have changed for the rebuild rule so u can basically forget trying that way, 15 year old rule wont work cos targa top del sols came out in 91 or 92 if im not mistaken. You do the maths...

Personal import is the only way of getting it in here, its not goign to be much if at all cheaper, better to just stick wtih a local del sol..

pornstar - ANYTHING is importble using the rebuild rule - or it was anyway.

There are a few JDM 'rex's in the country and the electronic roof is about the only give away. They came in the way the EK9, EG6 and EF8/9s did, though they are few and far between. Best bet is to find one, Qld or WA is your best bet as Vic tightened up the rebuild laws from what I understand.

Might be better just to get the roof from NZ if that's what you are after.
